Java games rock!

« Posted 2002-12-27 17:46:35 »

I thought this was an interesting article:
http://www.onlamp.com/pub/a/onlamp/2002/12/23/indiegames.html

How realisitic is it for an independent freelance Java developer to earn a living creating games?  What game platforms have the most potential?  PCs, PDAs, Cell Phones, or Game consoles?  I own a Sharp Zaurus and I'm impressed with it's Java integration but is there a market?  What impactl will the court ruling putting Java in Windows have?  We'll soon have Java on all new OS X and Windows platforms.  Thanks.

After witnessing what logos, tunes and such did for SMS/GSM service business, I am a firm believer in the Java games that can be downloaded to mobile phones. The deployment of Java games for them is so simple anyone can do them.

See www.garagegames.com for some nice ideas about future of "indie" game development! (EDIT: Oh there was a link in the article you referred to... Wink )

LOL  Kiss Cry

In another world maybe - of you need a big bunch of luck and get to know the really right person at the right time. Then, everything is possible.

Add your game by posting it in the WIP section,
or publish it in Showcase.
