I hadn't even heard of Graz. What do you guys like about it? Looks like from the weather, you get 5 months of nice temperatures, and 7 months of pretty cold (<50F) ones! Congrats on the end of the kickstarter! Now Mario needs to do one for a different tool- or just for "adding iOS support to LibGDX without mono". Publicity and money + more helping out the community Maybe adding some kind of visual editor to LibGDX to make simple games- something the hipsters can do

Nate, yup that's me. I sent the crash report when it asked, that's how you probably got it The button was the one with the multiple squares/windows on it. This was the latest version that I had just downloaded from your site :S

Maybe adding some kind of visual editor to LibGDX to make simple games- something the hipsters can do Programming is hard for a reason. If you can't do it, then you shouldn't be doing it. LibGDX is a library. Libraries make programming easier by combining complicated functions for practical usage. LibGDX already makes programming with OpenGL really easy. (So I've heard) Making a game with a Visual Editor is not programming. Making a game with a Visual Editor is using a stencil to draw a picture and saying you are an artist. Libraries != Making a game with a Visual Editor. LibGDX != Making a game with a Visual Editor. If you want a Visual Editor, use Unity or GameMaker.

Guess why I threw in "hipsters" - not "hardcore experienced developers". Programming IS hard- think there might be a reason for hipsters to pay money for development on a template engine, for simple games, powered by LibGDX? Do a little research- one of the top searched for phrases is "game maker"- a lot of people want to make games, without putting in much work. They don't want to be professional programmers, or indie developers. I was just suggesting it as something that could be used to generate attention + funds towards LibGDX development, since they don't get paid, and the work on it benefits a lot of people. Not suggesting LibGDX is a magic MMO generating engine....

Eh, that is weird. I'll sign up for their silly site and appeal the rating. Obviously esotericsoftware.com isn't malicious. Kind of makes me wonder why anyone would bother with this sort of silly virus software...

We kinda missed the boat with the kickstarter, or lets say I was skeptical, but now my team and especially our sprite artist said WE GOTTA BUY IT
so yeah money well spent, especially considering that other software that can do this as well really sucks... and that software is made by companies all week and costs much more
Well when you work in a software development office you really see why companies are often times slow, inefficient and expensive at developing stuff...

Thanks Cero! Glad you like it. wreed12345, I signed up for Norton as the site owner, clicked a button that said to re-evaluate my site, wrote them a nasty message about how their software sucks and is misrepresenting my website, and now they don't list my site as malicious anymore. Norton sucks!

If you can find a tool that costs "C" that does (or almost does) what you want...do the math:
1) T = guess of time savings 2) account for opportunity cost: 2T 3) How much is my time worth: E 4) if 2*T*E >= C: buy and move on to important stuff

Hello! I create a generic game engine and i build a backend for libgdx. I create an Spine Animation and i need the answer to these questions:
How you check in java code the bounding box of the animation? It's possible?
Thank you very much!

For now there isn't a true way although it is planned on being added. Nate said as a substitute until then: For now you could use a transparent image in Spine, then at runtime don't draw this image. Instead, use its vertices to do hit detection. Watch the progress of it here: https://trello.com/card/bounding-boxes/5131e9578f174c521c0059d9/39

ok.... thank you... actually no solutions... i will tinker my code and make, calculate the width and the height according to the bones positions and scale... i will reflect...

Okay Nate! It works! My spine animation resize to the area choosen. I can increase or decrease the area zone. It's very fun Thank you again!

Cool! You can also attach an image in Spine that you avoid drawing at runtime. You can then get the vertices of this image at runtime. Note it can be a quadrilateral (rhomboid), so you can use polygon intersection testing. This is better than just a bounding box, as it will move, rotate, and scale with the bone it is attached to. This is essentially what the bounding box feature will do.

O I had just needed the started bounding box. It's okay Now i have a new problem, how i can change the originX and originY for rotation and rescale? Because the origin for the rotation is at animation's bottom center and the origin for the rescale is at animation's bottom left. I would the origin be at animations's top left. What are the possibles solution to make it?

The origin is a runtime specific thing. You can move the root bone so the top left is at the origin, then when you rotate whatever container is rendering the skeleton, it will rotate where you want.

A quick question guys, if you can help me with. Im creating an android java 2d shooter game. I wanted to implement smooth animations into my game and came to this site and it seems very very good. However now im simply using image as my animation preset (sory for newbish programing talk). Do I need to somehow implement OpenGL into my engine to use this program for creating images? It would mean a world to me if you could answer me P.S The account activation was really unenecesary...

If you use your own game engine/toolkit then you need to implement a Spine runtime. See here: https://github.com/EsotericSoftware/spine-runtimesIf using Java you can base yours off the spine-libgdx runtime. However I would suggest to just use libgdx, for many reasons.

Nice! I really wish you good luck! Just a question aside, you mentioned your friend 'Soaryn'. Is he the guy, who programmed the minecraft mod 'Xycraft' and is a friend of 'direwolf20'? I don't expect Soaryn to be a common name

The problem with gaps between images in the animation was what kept me from really investing time in Spine. (I know it can be worked around). Adding meshes will be a huge benefit. I'll have to consider Spine again when you've done these updates.
