Glad there're another JP music listener, although your songs aren't my taste.

PIXIES.
Funny. I was just entering this thread to say: "If the pixies haven't been mentioned, then you're all a bunch of unwashed heathens.". I guess I don't need to say that after-all.

I also listen to eurodance (mostly cascada). I'm surprised no one has mentioned di.fm. They have good "techno" radio (dub, house, dnb, glitch, etc.) Thank you you are awesome for showing me this. ah.fm is also pretty good.

I just listened 34 hours (straight) to this streaming radio station: Programming was never so delightful. Now I have to get my productive ass to bed.

It seems there is a relation between 'advancing age' and the need for silence to concentrate?

yeah I guess you're right. I'm at 37. Anyway with kids around is almost impossible to have silence. And when they go to bed I'm tired and can't even program a line...

It seems there is a relation between 'advancing age' and the need for silence to concentrate? Perhaps related: as folks get older, they are more likely to listen to talk or news radio than music--or at least, that has been my observation. (Though I never do this while coding.) I'm also reminded of the adult saying to the kid: "a place for everything and everything in its place"--which I think may have more to do with adults' degrading memory than kids lack of sense of order. So, maybe there is an age-related physiological/cognitive basis.
