The title pretty much sums it up, what's your favorite game of all time?

Just too many of them good for different reasons.
Favorite RPG: Planescape Torment. What can change the nature of a man?
Favorite Adventure: Grim Fandango. This little light of mine...
Favorite RTS: Total Annihilation. DO SO NOW.
Favorite Puzzle game: Braid. Off in the distance, Tim saw a castle where the flags flutter even when the wind has expired, and the bread in the kitchen is always warm. A little bit of magic.
Favorite action "RPG": Bastion. I dig my hole you build a wall...

Zelda: Ocarina of Time has been my answer without hesitation for a long time. However assuming I could sever any nostalgic attachment I think Space Chem might be my current favourite.

The only two games I play seriously* at the moment are Battlefield 3 and League of Legends. I don't really have a favorite game I guess, but if I had to choose I'd pick Chrono Trigger and Cave Story.
* "Seriously" of course meaning flying around like a retard in a plane/helicopter in BF3 or being flamed to death for buying troll items in LoL.

Too many to name a sing favorite but....
1. Zork I I remember my friends and I drawing up maps and taping sheet after sheet of graph paper together. We also tried writing our own in BASICA (of course our imaginations were much bigger than our programming skills). The interactive fiction style still influences how i think about user interfaces.
2. X-Wing If there is any game that needs to be remade and revamped it's this one. Being able to fly an X-Wing after watching the movies and playing with the toys growing up was amazing.
No I'm not old....shut up.

Well, if I go by money - fun ratio I would say Heroes of Newerth... I play too much..I used to play HoN but switched to Dota 2 (big improvement imo), I can give you a free invite to the Beta if you want. My favorite game would have to be Doom 3, simply because of how much I enjoyed it when I was younger.

Zork!! I remember playing that in school a few years ago. Then I was assigned to make an interactive fiction game in C#. I ended up making a scriptable engine that built a dynamic world based on a simple scripting language I made up. The parsing and building code was loooong XD

I'm not sure if I would call it an improvement, the concept might be the same but the mechanics do differ quite a bit. I like both games, allthough I dont like the fact that S2 added so much ... commercial bullshit (nyan cat courier, rainbow unicorn skin...) that doesn't fit the grim feel of the game that it used to have. But all in all I like and play both games

I can't believe I forgot to mention The Bard's Tale. I think I have played that game more than any other. Oh the joy of facing "99 berzerkers, 99 berzerkers, 99 berzerkers, and 99 berzerkers".

Worms. The original Amiga version. Sadly I had to get rid of my Amigas in 2005 when I moved country, but I've still got the disks and the book with the anti-piracy codes.

Beneath a Steel Sky Sonic 3 Codename Eagle 47 (multiplayer was hilarious; the "russian" voice-acting was to die for) The Settlers UFO: Enemy Unknown (the new one "XCOM: Enemy Unknown" is also extremely good) Doom 3 (Alpha) (highly customizable; once I had fixed the net-code and added several weapons, it was an amazing experience) Delta Force (pixel hunt with a Barret Light 50cal in multiplayer; some of the best fun I've ever had) Counter-strike beta 5.2 (retaining bad animations and bunny-jumping) Counter-strike beta 1 (all 12 shotgun pellets hit exactly where you aimed, making it THE best sniper in the game. The losing team got $10...so the first round defined who would be running head-first into the slaughter and who would first get MP5s) Civilization 2 Duke Nukem 1-3 Cosmo's Cosmic AdventureMetroid I could go on...
