I have done a quick Google, and found a similar 'crowd-funding' website.

  • Don't have to live in UK or US.
  • NOTHING UNDER GAMES. Any games will be highly visible to anyone who visits

  • Not as popular as Kickstarter... yet...

Things to note:
  • Money is in $NZ which is not as much as $US

This list is incomplete. Any more thorough searching that finds more info can be put in the replies and will be added to this post

Hopefully this will see more projects getting the funding they need

Yes, this is not the only site like this, and Is porbably not the best. I am looking into other options.

Just had a small search and found Indie GoGo

International so can be used by anyone
Popular, but not focused just on games

Not just for games, includes almost everything,so maybe not as much exposure as core game crowd funding sites

I'm a java noob, but I'm learning. My little blog. My Games.

Found it before you read this topic but couldn't be bothered putting it out there.
Seems good enough.

Turns out that the one I found had low success rates, being New Zealand Based, but when the people o the internet get involved, who knows...

Oh, and this is the solution I need for making a multiplayer game.

I need the money to provide servers, but if I don't get enough then I can't provide servers. Perfect solution. Plus I get publicity to get more profit. An it allows me to hve free games if I make enough money...

Desura is kinda like steam, just not as popular, I was looking at it once, and it has the ability to put a game up for Alpha Funding. Not sure how well it is though.
