Post update v5

Own it for free through Google Play (for android v2.2+): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pack.boxel.main&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsInBhY2suYm94ZWwubWFpbiJd

I've recently decided to provide the source code to anybody who is interested. I'm a bit embarrassed to show how messy my code can get, but I'm sure someone out there might appreciate the code for their own use. Without further delay, I present to your the latest version of the source code: http://www.mediafire.com/?70fu6ndmo41p2pj

If you need help installing the code, please let me know. It's pretty easy to set up when you know what you're doing. I recommend using Eclipse to code with Java

Change Log: v1.0.3.1

  • Minor Bug Fixes
  • Improved FPS...slightly

Now that the game is finished, I can finally begin working on new games. Thanks for reading!

About the download:
Its kinda much work, only to see some outdated version, not much people will go trough that.
Try to compile an standalone jar (maybe with some extra files) so users can check your game withing a click.

The graphics:
The levels (background) seem nice, only the player / obstackles are kinda boring, try to create some better materials.
Even a few pixels here an there can make the terrain much more attractive.

Gameplay:
I dont know what limitations android has, but try to all some extra gameplay into your levels, 30 levels of jumping over spikes can get boring.
Some suggestions:
- Moving obstacles
- Moving screen (like mario), cant see if you already implemented this with the screenshots.
- Diffrent obstacles
- Power ups / handicaps

Other:
It could be nice if you included the level editor, so people can challenge eachother with their own levels, but i guess you already planned this.

So far my comments, the game looks good, nice and simple Smiley
Keep it up, i would like to see the endresult.

Unfortuntately, that zombie picture has nothing to do with the game, but if anyone's interested, here is the source code for Boxel (full v1.0.3.1). This should be a nice guide for those who want to start their very own Android game: http://www.mediafire.com/?70fu6ndmo41p2pj

You cannot reply to this message, because it is very, very old.

Add your game by posting it in the WIP section,
or publish it in Showcase.

The first screenshot will be displayed as a thumbnail.
