Lotsa Boxes: an android puzzle game

Hello all

I've made a puzzle game I'd like to share it with all of you. =) It's called Lotsa Boxes. The idea of the game is to sort boxes as they come out of the pipe on the left so that they leave through the correct pipe on the right. You can redirect the boxes by placing arrows on the grid before pressing the play button.

It all starts pretty simple with just the basic arrow, but very soon you will be introduced to alternating two way arrows, levels with multiple consecutive rooms and colour mixing/splitting.

The funding for development is basically zero which is why the graphics are so simplistic. I tried to make the best of what I had by using bright contrasts and a blocky style. Decide for yourself if I did it any justice.

The  full version is currently on sale (30% off) on the Google Play Store. I thought i'd drop the price during release week to encourage early adopters.

Good news: The game is not broken. I'm able to through the levels.

Bad news: I think it tries to show me some ads at the end of each level. Which results in the game crashing at the end of every level.

Well it shouldn't be showing any interstitial adverts. All the ads are banners shown in the main menu.

What you're probably seeing is scoreloop asking you to log in. Were you connected to WiFi when these crashes happened?

Try pressing the scoreloop logo on the main menu (while connected to the net) which should show you the login dialogue without crashing. Once you actively accept or decline login, it shouldn't bug you again between levels.

I'm gonna try and improve the scoreloop integration for the next version.

Just to clarify. Is your progress saving before the crash, so that you are able to continue after re-launching?

I'm connected to wifi. Otherwise I wouldn't have been able to download the game.

After it crashes, it still saves the game. So, I'm able to keep playing were a left off.

The crash is not a problem gameplay wise.

Interesting  well i'm afraid I don't have a jelly bean device, but I'm going to see if I can emulate your problem.

Could you send me the crash report, there should be an option to report it directly after it happens

It doesn't generate a crash report.

Also, the error message goes away too fast. That's the reason I couldn't tell what the game was trying to do.

Yes I've seen that happen in recent versions of android. It makes me wonder if it's a feature or not.  

As for this crash, I have a feeling it might be due to the level grid layout being updated outside of the main thread. I'm gonna push an update ASAP. Please do come back if the problem persists in the next version.  

EDIT: v1.03 is live now. Added apps to SD as well as fixing this crash

Well currently I've only posted on the indie gaming subreddit and here. I got a few upvotes there, but nothing spectacular. Basically what I'm doing at the moment is sending emails out to a load of app reviewers. Hopefully I'll get a response out of at least one and that'll earn me more exposure. Normally the sites that are open to submissions will have a submit link in the header/footer of their website.

Have you posted on any other decent forums lately?
