I think its ugly =<
Not really ugly, but too bright and stuff.
Graphically it just doesnt turn me on. Paired with having to adapt to a new design altogether...

Also feels sluggish and unresponsive on a weak laptop here.

I just switched over, and I don't find anything wrong with it.

I am on a different computer so I cannot speak on performance, when I get back to my main dev computer I'll have a more educated opinion Smiley.

I'm quite happy with it D: You can change the design going to window>preferences>general>appareance and select classic. Then restart the workspace!
The performance is still the same for me :/

It is definitely more sluggish (eg, switching windows) than previous versions, and my computer is very powerful. I'm using it anyway. The new theme doesn't bother me too much, but I'd gladly give it up for better performance.

It actually felt a bit faster for me. I really like the new UI though.

But why would you want to be sexually attracted to an IDE?! Tongue

It's harder to change IDE than browser. Guess I'll stick to Indigo RC longer.

I like the new update, I don't find much of a change other then it looks a bit nicer, looks like its been developed fairly recent compared to a  XP style

I like the update too, but It seems to me as closing the Editors takes much more time for me. If having opened about 20 files, and right-clicking on the bar, then going on "Close All" takes more then about 10 seconds...

Hideous. First Eclipse release I've not rushed to upgrade into. I'm sticking with 3.7. I wonder what possessed them to change stuff? Surely they, as developers, know that we, as developers, don't like things changing like that?

I see they've got support for a @NotNull attribute now - I'm almost thinking of upgrading for that alone.

New UI definitely feels more sluggish than the old one, not sure how they managed that considering the old UI already felt bloated and slow. Default theme is horrid too but at least there is a way to switch to the classic theme.

starts a lot slower, uses more resources, is butt-ugly... I'm not a happy camper. Its always the same though, Eclipse releases are alternating good and bad. 3.4 was terrible, 3.5 was good, 3.6 (especially SR2) had some major plugin breakers, 3.7 is very good (although I've managed to completely lock it up by closing the workspace on an SQL file...) and now 4 is worse again :/

Classic look and turning off animations makes it manageable for me though. The color scheme is still not easy on the eyes, but I'll live with it.

Some people used to say they didn't like Swing applications like NetBeans because they didn't look "native."  Will they now say the same thing about Juno?  I find it slightly amusing that Swing has been skinnable (albeit not by CSS, which is nice) for years and years, but most people didn't like or want that feature.  10+ years later, the Eclipse Foundation decides it's a good idea.  I suppose it just looks like a poorly done Swing LookAndFeel.  In a couple of iterations I'm sure they'll improve it.

But enough ranting.  I haven't tried it yet, but it appears that there's a lot more wasted screen real estate in Juno - padding, margins, etc. are all slightly larger than they need to be.  The dockable window icons floating in whiteness makes things look a little unfinished.  Perhaps it's just a "different is scary" mindset though.

I feel like I should tell you all to switch to NetBeans, if only to piss @ra4king off for derailing every NB thread!  Kiss

The only reason I switched from Netbeans was that it had a horrible memory leak that made it use over 2GB of RAM after restarting my program 10 times or so.

one thing that bothers me deeply in Juno is that Alt+left/right arrows don't work as before. The navigation history is kind of screwed up, I don't know exactly what happened. But since I already spent too much time installing plugins, ADT, etc, I'll stick to it.

Wait!

There's a bug in the theme settings. Select Windows 7 Classic (or just Classic), and then restart Eclipse. Badoomf! It all looks proper again. Thank goodness for that. I feel another upgrade coming on.

will take a deeper look what cool new features eclipse now has.
Last time is a while back^^

First thing I noticed was that eclipse startup is still slow Sad, compared with netbeans 4sec vs 44sec
