. That one is nice - but it's hard to logorise it. Variant 5: Now I really like that one. It's cool, yet monocolour so easily logorisable (you know, those little "powered by" icons at the bottom of loading screens etc...). And it's scalable and simple (two goals of xith?) If we had to vote now, I'd +1 that for sure. My only suggestion would be to put the "3D" in with the same style. Will.

I agree with William but I still think we need to add a mascot to the logo.

DZ I agree we need a mascot - but I reckon it can be seperate. On one hand you have the professional looking logo, and on the other you have the cute/evil mascot for Xith3D. The two can be combined if desired. Take for example Java - the coffee cup and Duke have no relations and both are used for different audiences. Will.

Can we start another thread with a poll and a list of the images then (if it really is time to vote?). Although we still don't have a "mascot". Kev PS. Good to have a fixed finish voting date too. PPS. Coo, the topic title changed to "Great Idea" Me slow.

The mascot can always come later Will.

I would ask you to wait a little bit before voting - I know designers here at JProof have some more ideas for logo. But because of heavy load with game graphics and animations, this takes some time.

I like #7, simple, yet eye catching and gives a nice 3D look.
Voting will be hard.

Maybe I'm just slow.. but I just realized that #7 can appear to have a '3' and a 'D' in the main "circled X" graphic. The white part in the circle looks like a 3 because of how the 'X' cuts bits out of it, the top half of the circle looks like a 'D' because of the way the bottom bit is not round because the X is there.

#7 is very good. I had gotten used to #1 since JCD's been using it a bit - but #7 is more sleek and modern.

The "X" logos look great, but... Focusing on the X is a bit "Direct X"ish. The old Direct X logo was a nuclear looking X. Or the X-box... Or X-Windows... Or Mac OS X... Or the PSX... Or the X-Prize... Or *niX... Or Active-X... Or.....

Focusing on the X is a bit "Direct X"ish. Which isn't necessarily bad. It could work to the advantage of Xith 3D to attract programmers familiar with all those other 'X'-ish things.

Should we already start a poll on the Subj or we will wait a bit more?
I know that designers here in JProof are quite busy right now, so I think [read: know] they will not have time to make more variants.

I think we should start a poll. What are the nominees? The JProof ones are the best so far IMHO and I would be happy with just those ones being nominated. Before we start the poll is there any non-JProof logo which someone feels should be on the voting list? Will. PS. I just got back from a holiday so I've got a bit of Xith3d catching up to do
