Hello,
i have been working on this project for about 2 weeks now, and have about 8 weeks of java game development.
Everything ive made so far is without use of the tutorial, and all the graphics are made by me, or a friend of mine.
Im making a Warcraft 3 like towerdefence, combined with a lot of new elements. I'll make a video of it later today.
Screenie:
(Also dont mind the red circles, those are just temporary)

(And dont look at the numbers above the creeps, they are for testing purpose only!)
soon more to come!
(Keep in mind that this is some pre pre pre release footage, and much will be updated)
The next update (Somewhere soon this week, real soon!) will contain real buttons, some new graphics (Castle and icons) and different ages!
Checklist:
-Different waves
-Tower placement
-Random map
-Pathing system for creeps
-Upgradeable towers
-Core elements work!

-Time periods (Different towers in different time periods) 80%
-Easy map making (its rather hard now) 10%
-Aoe towers now have explosive hits     50%
-Dynamic map (map changes with each age)

-Multiplayer Co-op
-Multiplayer vs
- 1v2 multiplayer
-Bigger variation of creeps
-Score screen after each wave
-Map making application
-Sounds
-Dynamic lighting
-Effects

green is done, orange is what im working on and red is what still has to be done.

Also some feedback and ideas would be nice Cheesy
What i have added in this update:
-You can now see the increase of range from your towers.
-Made my button engine MUCH better, and easier to implement buttons.
-Removed some ugly test strings (Which arent needed anymore)
-Added the age system! (Different ages have different towers)

Ive made a video! finally found a good screen recorder (something which only needs 1,9 mb for 1 min. Instead of 9 gig for 1 min (fraps)).

I'm not really a towerdefence-fan, but this video of the game looks like it would be fun to play.
Are you planning to change the graphics to some kind of perspective-view? (like 45°)

Also, may i ask, which screen recorder you found?  Grin

I don't know the name of the recorder out of my head. I'll post the name as soon as I'm home. Promise!
Also do you think it will look better in issometric? I don't have a spriter(or artist) who makes sprites, and I can't do 45 degree pixeling myself. Also any ideas on how it would make it look even more fun to play?Smiley

Thx for your response!;)

Yeah, spriting is not the easiest job.
I create the alien-ships of my current project as 3d-models (using "wings 3d"), then i make screenshots of them and finally i resize the images to the needed size...
Works well for me.

Thanks for the useful tip. However i cant 3d model either persecutioncomplex.
Also Camtasia Studio, its rather expensive. But has a good trial and is really worth the money. Or im sure there are other ways of getting it.

Please keep it up!  Cheesy
I'd love to see the final game done. The multiplayer option seems very fun to play with. What about developing your "castle" to produce troops to send to the enemy's castle? With many upgrades it could be a fun balance between defending and attacking.

Don't worry about graphics until later on. If you're like me and are very bad drawing, focus on the core game and then look for someone to help you with graphics, it's easier once you have your game at 90% done or so. Make "temporary" graphics to get the game running and be aviable to show your ideas!

Good luck!
