Check out these links:
For images, a plain Google/Google Images search is all that you need.

First off let me welcome you to JGO Grin Secondly, if you already now Java or at least a little then JGO (this site) has an excellent list of tutorials and other things about game development here: Java Gaming Resources. If you don't know much about Java then I would recommend looking at Oracle's tutorials here: The Java Tutorials. As for images here is a list of some places to get them The Big List of Royalty Free Graphics. Finally here is a "guide" to indie game development (making your own games) Indie Resources, it has a lot of good information in it, like art tutorials, image editors, sound effects makers, video makers, marketing ideas, and a lot more. Also I know you didn't ask for advice, but I would recommend making some kind of simple game to start out with, and then going from there. Good luck to you, and feel free to come back here if you need help Smiley

EDIT: Gah, ra4king you beat me to linking fayimora to JGO's resource page.
