I was trying to figure out a way to recreate the old sprite scaling game engines - from 80s arcade machines like "Out Run" and "Galaxy Force II" - in Java.

I have no previous experience at game development but I do have significant knowledge in JAVA programming.

Do you guys have any suggestion of helpful classes, APIs or books ?

thank you!

actually haven't seen "Mode 7" stuff for java

obviously you could do it yourself, if you are an opengl master.
