Anyone want to try something I put together today, it might be might next project.. not quite sure yet.. I'd like to know first whether the webstart works, and second whether it works on platforms other than windows.. For now I suggest to turn vertex buffer caching off for Linux. You can do this the following way: 1 2 3 4

Thanks again guys, Source code will be available once I've sorted it out and probably once I've put an actual game together from it. If you'd like the source sooner contact me by email and I'll send it on. Its just not really good enough for public viewing just yet  Incidently, whats an "Elsa Erazor 3", google time... Tested several xith demos and I can see is a black screen. Here is a printout from the console screen (runcube.cmb). Other demos print similar text. fileinfo: xith3d.jar, 2003-10-12 03:05 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11

Works fine here, too: Win2000 with TNT2. (However only about 10 fps... but this is probably due to my gfx card.)

Im out of luck  I browsed Matrox forum and G400 driver (possible all Gxxx serie) support only OpenGL1.1 and did not find any future releases on that area. http://forum.matrox.com/mga/viewforum.php?f=43&sid=aab5c73aa6fa8ec08399150367422c8eMy lowbudget is screaming, but I hope SantaClaus see this message. Is it possible to create anything even simple visible with Xith3D library without having OGLv1.2 driver? Probably cubetest.cmd demo is a simple as can be. I know, that lwjgl driver (latest AlienFlux works on G400) and simple JOGL demos work. Althought all fullscreen jogls go to a blank screen as well, but thats ok as I prefer windowed mode. G400 is a deadend card, so I must upgrade it. EDIT: Found a wild wrapper driver, supports OpenGL1.4 through DirectX interface. http://www.scitechsoft.com/products/ent/gld_home.phpI may give it a try and see whether it gives me OpenGL1.2+ support with current G400 driver.

If you use Linux you can install Mesa (software rendering) which supports OpenGL 1.4.

Huh, Suse9.0, NVidia 4800.....all was running great with last demo (birdless one). It works now, but I cannot see FPS if I'm not jumping, and if I AM jumping on the screen with bird and that ugly oneeyed alien, well, very strange effect happens, part of screen pointing at my jumping direction becomes disorted. When just walking around, works fine. Would send you screen capture, if I could just find out how.

Would send you screen capture, if I could just find out how. Atleast on redhat 9 when you press prtscn (or whatever it's called on your keyboard) you get at nice looking "save screenshot as" dialog. This plus Gimp [as Jens pointed out earlier] should be enough  If you won't get the dialog you could use "copy clipboard into new image" directly from within gimp instead! EDIT: I get the same as above btw
