Java games rock!

i need to prove at my boss that java could make very beautiful gui, and good graphics in applet. Cause if i cant see anything as good looking like flash (he like flash), ill do the program i have to do in flash, and i dont want this..

please do not reply that my boss is stupid, lol

but if you could give url with example of very nice java application it would be nice, but to be honnest i never see a good gui, very nice one, like game or things like that in java

Go to football or baseball scoreboards and click on a scorecast.

I will say that it is easier to create flashier stuff in Flash and not have to deal with the various incompatibilities. To do really cool stuff you have to have the latest of JVMs, and just having them download the JavaPlugin greatly reduces the potential audience. You can build far more sophisticated and complex things in Java - but until someone really gets on the ball with building flashy Java GUIs like you can with Viewlet Builder (it can actually do presentation style things *easier* than Flash) - I expect Flash to remain dominant in this area.
