Java games rock!

Hi all,

Well I was trying to get lwjgl 0.8 running on my mac test box and realized that I am running jdk 1.3.1 - it is just a test box and I can barely find my way around a mac - they are so freaking unintuative Cheesy

Anyway, the software updater WILL NOT recognize that I want java 1.4.1 and I can not find any other way to get it.  am i just missing something stupid here?  I'd sure like to do some mac testing of lwjgl.

some specs...

PowerPC G3 450 MHz (sucky i know)
512 MB Ram
Mac OS X version 10.2.8

Anyone have any ideas?

THANKS!

That would be great!
And, er, Elias could do with some help coding the LWJGL, as he's all by himself at the moment, and would rather be spending some time on his game than buggering around with supporting technologies... I don't suppose you could assist with the Mac builds and LWJGL port? It's ever so nearly finished....

There was a problem with the latest 1.4.1 build and QT for java that was causing problems with Panther upgrades.  I think the software update is offline until that is sorted.

But Panther is way cool and will likely be required for some aspects of working with JAWT,  i.e. windowed mode for LWJGL will likely never happen on 10.2, but may not be that hard to implement on Panther.

i'll help where i can... i can definitely test when apple get java 1.4 back online, that is if you want to see how it runs on a 450 MHz mac Tongue we also have a G4 laptop laying around here somewhere that i can probably get panther on to test as well.
