The idea of the actual game is becoming a bit more clear now as well.
You are supposed to gather "resource points" that can be used to configure your ship with modules such as:
* Thrusters (automatically placed depending on function: forward, backward, strafe, turn)
* Weapons and ammunition storage
* Energy (required for self repair, shields, and some weapons)
* Repair system
* Radar, map and "enemy prediction software" for turrets
Most of the modules are physical and are placed on the ship as physical components that can be destroyed. There is then a tactical/puzzle element to protect the vital parts with both hull and shields.
There is no cost to reconfigure the ship, no loss in selling parts such as weapons. You can have as many ship blueprints you like and are encouraged to build different sorts of ships like fast rammers, fighters, bombers and large but slow cruisers.
