Team name:
Totem Trader

Project name:
Totem Trader

Brief description:
It is an online strategy/rpg game. It will be played from the browser using the Java applet.
There will be no leveling or skills like a standard rpg. The world will be a (partially destructible)
battlefield, where battles will consist of outwitting your opponent. It is a turn based game converted
into a real time environment (Game is real-time). The rpg element comes from building fortifications,
acquiring an army, and acquiring equipment for the army. The setting is standard fantasy.

Target aim:
Short term: Free. Fix any bugs/add enchantments/etc....I will cover dedicated server hosting
Medium-Long term: Premium account option to help cover hosting costs + pay team members.

Compensation:
None yet.

Technology:
Client Side: Java Monkey Engine, Applet
Server Side: Netty, Hibernate

Talent needed:
1-2 Programmers. You will probably be working on the client-side rendering first while I finalize server and network design.
I have a private SVN setup at a host.

Skills I would like to see:
- Must be familiar with common design paradigms.
- Good documentation skills
- Know his/her way around a scene-graph engine like jME
- Has basic server development skills ( Knows how UDP & TCP/IP sockets work. Knowledge of NIO helpful but not needed since we will be using Netty)
- Clean coder
- You enjoy programming =).

Team structure:
Me: Lead Programmer

About me:
I am pursuing a B.S. in computer science. I am currently a researcher at a university.
I have held multiple software engineering jobs. I know how the most common scene graphs
(jME,irrlicht, ogre) work very well. I've taken graphics class at uni as well. I've done server
development and database work professionally.
