you guys get it ?

Apple is asking for Oracle to do the JVM for OSx

Which is fair enough. Of course for mac laptop fan boys, it would be terrible if Oracle decides to ignore OS.x.

Some people think Oracle cannot do that.

I don't care. I never buy Apple locked stuff.

@Riven:
Steve Jobs does not like anything that does not come from Apple period.
He is no better then Bill Gates and just wants to control the market and what people can or cannot put on their devices.

If there were not so many flipping hippster-drones out there that bought into this crap (and in the same time give Jobs the encouragement) we would not be hearing this.
Oppression is freedom. Orwell knew it all along.

IMHO screw Apple.

It is this stupid idea that allows the rotten Apple to propagate.

I don't think Apple are a "zero sum" proposition... I think the niche they occupy fills a need that they've worked very hard to, er, create. Leave them to it. If they want to lock it down, that's fine, nobody forces anyone to write software for them.

Maybe, but I also care that I see friends getting sucked into it.

Overpriced, maybe, but they do make great products. You'll very rarely find a Mac user who is disappointed with using a Mac.

Tbh I would expect 99% of Mac users won't even notice is Java is fully removed.
