Why is JOGL on TV? It's dead, and it wasn't that good a lib in the first place when compared to LWJGL.
This thread does not concern LWJGL and this library is good for different purposes as JOGL is only an OpenGL/OpenGL-ES(/OpenMAX?) binding. JOGL is not dead, it is used in lots of commercial softwares including both games (Wakfu by Ankama Games) and applications (NASA World Wind, Sculpteo, Playviz, etc...), the nightly builds work, the second version is still in beta, please stop FUD and don't turn this thread into a "JOGL versus LWJGL" debate.
I work as an engineer/researcher in computer science and I now know that JOGL is used in a lot of scientific applications, jzy3d by Masa Group (that relies on JOGL) is used as a replacement of JClass, GEF3D JOGL version is still maintained...
JOGL is very far from the death, really.
