I was recently contacted by a company called GoApk.com, who are offering to localize my apps to Chinese.

It seems like a fairly reasonable offer; they offer to do the translation of the xml files (so seems to be minimal work for me), and they get more apps for their website, while I (hopefully) get access to a larger market. It seems like a good deal (knowing about the restrictions common in China and the Google-China feud), but I am naturally cautious about unsolicited business mails from people I do not know. Does anyone here have any experience with these guys? I know some of you have pretty high profile apps on the market, so surely they contacted you before they wasted their time on small fry like myself.  Wink

A guy from "Innovation Works" contacted me to put my games on their upcoming Android site .
Since I dont have any paid apps, well why not ? I just sent him the last apks I had from my apps, and he said it would translate the description to chinese (no ingame changes though . ) .

Since the Android Market is not available to China and they are a gigantic market, I think it's worth the try . Let's see in a few months ...

Language Automation, Inc. (LAI) http://www.lai.com/ translate for ngmoco. I've interacted with them a bit (and seen some of the text they make ) and they seem very fast and professional. As far as I know they charge per word.

I'd point out that the translation offer (at least according to their mail) is for free. If they were talking about charging for it, it would have gone into the spam bin right away.

Not sure about GoAPK.com? Although, it is free alright, is there such a thing as "free"!? I decided to settle with SmartApp.tw instead. It belongs to a big phone company in Taiwan (I consulted with my Chinese friend). The site looks professional: http://www.smartapp.tw/  My friend volunteered to translate it to Chinese for me.
