95% broken drivers (Linux and Windows) 5% broken sound (nearly all Windows, nearly all as a result of OpenAL32.dll in Windows system directory, a very few extra weird Linux sound configs) <1% Mac (Mac user still on Java 1.4.2, broken since LWJGL moved to v2.6) Cas

5% broken sound (nearly all Windows, nearly all as a result of OpenAL32.dll in Windows system You really should move over to using "org.lwjgl.librarypath" instead of "java.library.path", should solve the above issue.

I see you have Tycho hooked. But it isn't true that I haven't played games, it's just that I haven't plowed time into the sort of "Triple A" retail excursions that tend to define coverage here and elsewhere. I've been playing the awesome retro-inflected Revenge of the Titans from Puppygames. http://www.penny-arcade.com/2011/1/12/

Hello everyone, we just radically overhauled Revenge of the Titans. Chances are you'll get on with it much better than you may have done in the past. Give it a whirl and let me know what you think. The changes are too long and complex to list here... just suck it and see! Cas

Or can I just download the demo and enter some license number that will be in my email somewhere?

It has gotten significantly/ better than it was before. Congrats. I think it's still a bit too difficult because it's near impossible to determine where the enemies will walk (as opposed to typical tower defense games where they can just go anywhere), but then again I'm playing on the hardest difficulty.

I think technically royalty rates are under NDA but it's a "well known secret" Valve take 30% commission - which is excellent, and one of the many reasons they're so great to work with. Cas

So, finally after looking on and off at RotT for a week now. I finally decided to go ahead and get it on steam.
I had been torn, on if I would personally enjoy it or not. The game feels/looks different then the trailer video and screenshots.
I haven't played it super far yet, but I love it!! Excellent!
I am going to write a review/impressions/feedback as I work my way through completing it.
edit: Suggestions 1. When dialogue is playing between levels, allow 2 clicks or 2 spacebars(or even 1) to make it full text, because I can read faster than it appears and its slightly annoying. Most games support skip to full text of current window. Thanks!
2. At some level, a tool tip came up, right as the level ended, but it was "hidden" behind the end level window, and then it disappeared. Please make tool tips, appear in a location that they stay visible(are not obstructed by other menus) I think it was a tool tip about not needing to sell things before the game ends? But there was more to it I couldn't read?
3. Sometimes its not overly obvious(at least in lower levels) that a titan is attacking a building. It looks as if they are skirting by the side, by attacking it. Things are getting hit and flashing. Do titans have an attack animation that is highly visible?
4. Although its a "game design" choice. I'd love to be able to see remaining crystals amount in crystal(if hovered)(maybe its a later tech, I dont know)
5. although it took a little while to understand the whole "1 tech upgrade per level" system. Maybe I over looked something, but I was confused until the 3rd time I was there and it sunk in.
6. The mustache dude talking sounds a little odd, and also slightly repetitive. I know hes not saying real words. Its intentionally gibberish. That is fine and I like it. but I feel it repeats the sound a lil too regular, enough to be noticed and bothered by it slightly.
7. Love the controls, the main menu, the windows, LOVE the art style! Gameplay is fun, extremely responsive, the main game feels intuitive, solid pace, feels like its not lacking anything.
8. Although I know you intentionally slightly obscure the tech upgrades, I think it adds to the game. I think I saw some people wanting to know the stats/details before hand. And I thought that earlier on. Then I realized how much more I enjoyed not knowing the exact details. Because it didn't make me sit there comparing 10 different things to find the "best" thing. I tend to be slightly obsessively over calculating/comparing.(I sometimes spend hours trying to decide on builds prior a RPG, and I'm not a big RPG fan, just obsessive chooser) It was more sorta, that looks neat, lets try that. Oh well, if it wasn't great, it mighta been a pre req, or I can get something else next time.
9. I will add more, maybe as the game develops.
