Appears that Sun.com has disappeared from the cyberspace. Sun.com now redirects to Oracle.com. On other pages, e.g. java.sun.com, the Sun logo has been substituted by the Oracle logo.

Perhaps these forums need a new color theme, something red.

I'll miss the Sun site, it was much nicer then the Oracle one.
But it will be really nice if they redo the Sun forums. They are rediculously too slow.

They have changed the Sun forums now too. The new design is making my eyes bleed.

I agree, their CSS color swap is hard to look at. Oh, and please no, don't go with a red theme. I know I'm not too active around here, but here's one little vote to keep the blue theme. It's much more calming. I don't like the Oracle site too much, it's a little to "noisy."

They want to make Sun customers happy, then DON'T TOUCH SUN! We do not need nor want you messing around with Java and the other stuff.
If we wanted Oracle stuff, we would have taken Oracle stuff. </rant>

Look at: http://www.oracle.com/index.htmlfor middleware: Java takes the first place in the listing for databases: MySQL takes the last place in the listing

Good. MySQL is crap. Now, I wonder if we're going to see some clientside progress with Java finally. Or - shock - a JVM on a console or iPhone. Cas

Oracle says it's going to develop/support/deploy JavaFX aggresively. But... why? I hope they don't lose focus on clientside JavaFX.

Maybe we all need to grow beards to match the existing Oracle developer base...

Good. MySQL is crap. Now, I wonder if we're going to see some clientside progress with Java finally. Or - shock - a JVM on a console or iPhone. Cas The problem's never been Sun here. If it can run multiple programs, it's not allowed. It's also why there's no Flash on the iPad.

It's also why there's no Flash on the iPad. Actually Adobe CEO (or similar position) is shocked by the fact that the iPad doesn't support Flash.

They could easily get around this by just installing a Java framework on the thing but not have applets in webpages. Then at least I'd get to port my code. Grr Cas

Kenai is also now being closed too. It looks like Oracle is just stripping Sun of all it's products and assets.
