ive been taking computer sciences this semester and passed  with a 94 but we never learn anything impressive cause the class was to big for any1 to learn more then the basic's i am currently applying to several colleges for game design and would like to develop more programming skills for college.

anyways i was wondering what program i should use? i know my terminology is incorrect but by program i mean JCreator or ready to program in java

ok, I think you mean IDE(integrated development enviroment).

second, I recommend eclipse or blueJ. but I would more recommend eclipse....

Eclipse for Java and Visual Studio for C++ were my choices, and are both in industrial use.
NetBeans and Borland are close contenders, respectively.
Emacs for hardcore geeks.
