Im going through a video tutorial on making a simple 2D Game in Java. Im at the point where he want to JFrame but when i go to import it its not there in the list. is something extra i have to download. IM using eclipse as my editor.

there is an error on the import line. it says Access Restriction. Im running windows vista if that has anything to do with it

import javax.swing.JFrame;

should be fine if it's at the top of your file. I don't know about Vista, but I wouldn't be surprised if it did some crazy access restriction.

I fixed it kind of. i just changed the rules to ignore those errors.

When in doubt, blame Vista  Roll Eyes.

I'm running Vista and I certainly don't see any such problems, fwiw... in fact I'd be surprised if Vista had anything to do with it.  I checked and my Eclipse is set up to give errors on forbidden references.

What JRE are you targetting?

I second that I find it very doubtful that Vista is to blame.

I had the same problem with Mandriva Linux Sad I don't know why... It happened when I switched to Eclipse 3.5.
