This is hardly a new idea. If you look at the thread on this forum when people were talking about when they started programming, you'll see many were even younger than 10. I had a program called World Builder that had a simple programming language and a GUI. And there's always Hypercard, way back on early early Macs, that allowed super complicated adventures and was mostly drag and drop.

But if it works, hurrah.

I (speaking as a kid) hate using simple high level programs.

I program because I enjoy getting into the code, not because of the end product, or the ease at which I can do it. I like the difficulty.

True, me too.  This is aimed at kids that would otherwise turn away from the complications.  To get them interested and maybe hooked.  Then when they try more difficult stuff they won't be as quick to shy away from the dificulty.

yeah that would probably helpf ro most kids.


and I supposed my opinion is a bit fuddeld, because I am probably a bit older than those kids in there. they looked like they were 5-6
