Are the methods to draw cylinders available in version 0.7?  I can't find them in the API.

They are removed in 0.7 along with other many glu stuff. I suppose creating the ERROR callbacks were a problem (you can't really use them nicely).
That glu stuff should probably better be implemented in java.

The LWJGL team can better answer that, but I think there are plans to implement glu in java instead of the native binding of 0.6 and lower.
I hope that won't cause adding too much to the JNI overhead though and so decreasing performance...

I do believe GLU has been ported to pure Java by the JOGL team. I think. I can't see any reason to duplicate their efforts although we'll have to port it slightly to LWJGL.
