2D Java games forever!

« Posted 2009-08-03 01:16:03 »

Hi,

I'm more than a day late in he competition, in part for the devilish theme, and I've  been a bit busy this weekend.

Well, my idea centers on a lemming's style walking Duke. It walks over a plaform where obstacles appear.

The player is The Bender, a glowing ball with the power to bend the platform. With his power The Bender needs to save Duke helping him to avoid the obstacles and reach the Java Beans (bonus points).

An example of the game screen is here:

    Now my  to do list:

  • Resources (Sprites)
    • Duke DONE
    • Background
    • Obstacles
    • The Bender Half Done
  • Programming
    • Bending Platform: First idea is working, now it needs to interact with Duke and The Bender
    • The Bender: Catching the mouse state working
    • Duke
    • Level Editor

My schedule:

  • Interaction with The Bender
  • Sprites of The Bender
  • animating Duke
  • Get the Stages working
  • Make many stages

Shame, looks like it was going somewhere interesting, probably the closest to the theme too.
