Xenplat JOGL, and Java 1.5+ (Might be 1.6 now)(note: you should be able to resize the window to full screen without it looking bad.) I've been working on Xenplat for about 3 weeks, and this is what I've gotten. It's my first game in JOGL, and uses my map and object editors for levels. It will be open sourced later on. the controls are: --Controls-- Z: Fire UP/X: Jump LEFT: Left RIGHT: Right http://prime.turquoisegrotto.com/java/xenplat.jnlp William Starkovich

Although this game is really simple and I made it really quickly, I think it's probably the most fun game I've ever made. SinuosityJava 1.5 You play as a little adventurer who wants to prove his worth to the world. You've heard about the mysterious labyrinth nearby, supposedly unending and filled with thousands of monsters, weapons, potions, and more. Your goal is to reach the very bottom of the labyrinth (unfortunately for the adventurer, he doesn't know that there is no bottom). The mazes are completely randomized so that every game is a new game, and the further you go the more complicated and difficult the mazes become, and the tougher the monsters get. Every once in a while, you will even fight a giant minotaur! by Eli Delventhal (I can improve the graphics and a few things if you want, especially the UI which I didn't really refine) JNLP LINK: http://www.otcsw.com/webstart/Sinuosity/Sinuosity.jnlp

Game Name: SingSong Karaoke http://singthegame.com/singsong-trial.jnlpPlatform requirements: Windows, Mac OS X 10.4+, Linux, Java 1.5+ Description: Sing while the game scores you by measuring your voice against the original artist. SingSong allows you to karaoke with any song you want to sing by giving you the tools to support new songs. Battle against friends to finally settle who is the best singer! Supports as many simultaneous singers as you have microphones. SingSong uses OpenGL through LWJGL and the Slick 2D library. It also uses the Themable Widget Library GUI toolkit and a few other commercial friendly OSS projects to decode various audio formats. Screenshot(s): More screenshots: General screenshots: http://singthegame.com/screenshots.phpUnicode support: http://singthegame.com/unicode.phpDeveloper's Name:Nathan Sweet / Esoteric Software admin@singthegame.comhttp://singthegame.com/I think it would be really cool to have a booth set up with SingSong! People could pick up a mic and sing a little. Note people don't have to sing loud at all to play. I can provide free, Creative Commons licensed music (see the demo, on the homepage). I could also create a special version of the game that loops through the four free songs, so anyone walking by can pick up a mic and sing without the need to click around in a GUI. If needed, I can provide USB microphones for the booth. These Logitech USB Microphones are nice, reasonably priced, and work well with computers (it says Xbox but it is just a USB mic).

All, Sorry it's been so long without an update. Basically, I set up the thread from your contributions for the lounge area at J1 and the pages were up for attendees to go and play with the game sin the thread as they saw fit. There were a few games that were played often but, alas, the bulk were not. There were people there manning the area, as I could not due to my responsibilities for the show, and, unfortunately, they were not as aggressive as I would have liked in trying to cycle through them all. Anyway, there was some visibility there, I did a video segment that went out to several outlets (check in at about 3:10 - http://channelsun.sun.com/video/the+javaone+insider+with+host+chris+melissinos+-+day+2/25406972001), and tried to get some focus there. Sorry many of your games never saw a *pop* from the show. -Chris
