Was just about going suggest the same thing. JPCT has a software and hardware render. I found it was easy to learn, and the engine is fairly light.

Hello!

Im building boardgame site with Blender, Inkscape and of course with Sun Java.

im softly familiar with JOGL ( on texture level no universal 3d projects, only side shooter ),

JOGL needs signing with Applets on Opera browser, Firefox is working without signing but Opera is so popular that i drop JOGL.

so, i need help to choose a right free 3D engine to my Applets.

i was looking 3DzzD, it even loads blender files, but it is without a free license, i need a something similiar like 3DzzD.

please give guidanse to right easy/(very)fast to learn 3d engine.

hum 3DzzD is free    it may have not be when it was bringed out a cupple of years ago but nowadays it is completly free to use, and source code opensouring has been annouced in the forum for december.
