Please could you check if it works under Windows without installing SWT separately? Maybe you have already installed it on your machine.
I have tried it and it works under windows without installing anything else.

I submitted a press release about the Java Game Tome and it seems it got picked up by some of the media:
http://www.macworld.com/article/135081/2008/08/javagametome.html?lsrc=rss_main
http://www.pcworld.com/article/149996/2008/08/.html?tk=rss_news

Now might be the time to submit your game, if you haven't done so already  Grin

Thank you. The dll are directly inside the JAR, I have just seen them a few minutes ago.

Is it possible to integrate a mail alert when one of our game has a comment or a new rating.

Let me put it onto the to do list. I don't want to spam people, so I will leave it turned off by default.

IE can't do transparency in png images, and it looks like the tome is surrounding every image with a frame by using a slightly larger transparent png image with the frame in it.

That's a problem indeed. For IE6, the problem shows up.

In my book, adapting your website to every possible browser is possibly overkill, but Firefox, IE7 and IE6 should be catered to.
Considering IE6 is quite widely used, still.

Might as well take the time to plug "multipleIEs".
Let's you install several old Internet Explorer's, very good for compatibility testing. I've heard though, that these versions don't represent the truth, but to what extent I don't know.
Every bug I've read about from other IE6 users has showed up in the multipleIEs versions. So I've only had great experiences with it.

About the IE problems with png:
I think the problem is only there when using alpha layer transparency, single bit transparency should, to my experience, work fine with .png.

Suggestion:
I think there should be a number of ratings on a game before it is worthy of being in the top of the "Top Rated" catagory. Right now the authors (or someone else, but lets face the truth Tongue ) votes 10 for their own game putting new games in the top of "Top Rated". Perhaps some kind of algorithm to adjust games based on their number of ratings aswell might be a good idea...
I hope that made sense Tongue

Just a heads-up to what's happening to the Java Game Tome: The Java Game Tome has reached 100 games! Over half the games has 100 hits & 100 plays. The top games have over 2000 hits/plays. Feel free to submit your games if you haven't already done so...

I recently changed the name of my game, what should I do to update the Java Game Tome post? It seems as if you used the name as the ID in the database?

Send me the name and I'll update it manually (it's not the ID, but I figured it's better to keep it fixed).

@DzzD: got it! I will fix it later today - I should have taken GIF instead of PNG...

@RXM9600: The list displays the top rated games for ratings done within the last 28 days. It gives new games a chance to make it into the list. On the other hand, there are not that many people rating games, so a single 10 point rating can get a game into the list...

Could make it that it will only show games with at least 3 votes or so.

OK, it's done - only games with 3 or more votes within the last 28 days (4 weeks) are counted! Right now, the only game rated 3 or more times is "Craigs Race". I guess, happy rating all the other games  Grin

Hi, would be nice if the list of games on title page contained game description instead of latest news about the game. I think the current texts are confusing for most people who just want to list through available games.

Yeah, I second that. "Initial upload" or "final build" don't really make sense to most people.

I did another Java Game Tome update! I translated it to German. Also, I got some people working on Japanese & Chinese  Grin

Anyhow, if you like to get your language in, let me know! I got a template ready. All you need to do is to translate it to your language and I'll plug it in...

Funny PWO is the top game yet the Java alpha version hasn't had a public release for a while now. So guessing people been voting the current VB version heh. I shall release a update for it soon when I'm not so busy.

Nice effort, though what about games' descriptions? Isn't it weird to have localized site with english content? I'm more for full or nothing when it comes to localization, otherwise it looks just weird.

BTW, would be nice to add next/prev page links at bottom when browsing through list of games.
