I read this board since two or three weeks and it's time to introduce myself and the game I work on
I'm a beginner in java and game development. Eight years ago, I hava discovered a java online game that was called Marbleous, a really simple but addictive game with a community of fans. 3 or 4 years ago, the game was abandonned by the french game sites. The community was really sad and I tried to work on Marbleous to make it back to life.
I have decompiled the applet, and with the game, I have coded a server to run the game without modification of the client (it takes me few month to make it works quite stable). I have learned java at this time, that was a good motivation
The game has revived but without publicity people slowly abandonned the game. Four months ago I have get back to work on it, new site web, finding old players. The game has a major problem, it was developped for Microsoft VM with old API. That's how I arrived here, seeking information on how to improve performance of the game.

Marbleous is an online game that looks like the famous Bust-a-move / Puzzle Bobble game from Taito but you play in rooms with up to ten players. You can make teams, each time you break bubbles, ennemis get more bubble on their screen. You get spells too, positive or negative to disrturb or help players. There is also a chat.
