There's a trick to employ in this game, and that is that you don't have to put out all your blocks before you start the balls movements. I usually see where it goes and if it winds up somewhere after a bounce but where it initially would've blocked it before the bounce, I add it in real time afterwards.
I noticed this slight flaw myself, never got round to plugging it. I don't think I will develop this game any further as I have already started on a new one. I did have grand plans for all sorts of special blocks that shoot the ball or dampen it's bouncing as well dynamic levels with switches and trap doors etc. I used to be quite disappointed at my inability to complete a game but every new game I start I tend to get further so I am getting better. Also I really like starting new games and at the end of the day that is what this hobby is about, fun.
I have bits and pieces of about 20+ games lying around right now and it's getting quite easy to just pull bits together and get a new concept up and running in a weekend.
