sorry for bit late reply, but: well done! The week-or-so ago update fixed the game! I plan on playing it a lot as it is very smooth and runs 60+ FPS on an old pc, I am going to build a very nice computer within a week and plan to get a lot more so I will play this game  only glitch noticed so far: the 'press Z to exchange' when standing over a weapon blinks and flashes randomly.

Hey, that is great. I'm glad you could enjoy the game finally.
I'll try to see whats causing the flashing of the press Z text, I noticed it once before.
Sadly a new form of the reset bug has shown up. I edited some code on the server side, so if anyone's stuff gets reset please remember what series of steps occurred before this. Also the way it has been occurring this time is when people initially play the game, it is reset. So also when you exit the game, remember which room you left from.

A few points (1) it was not very clear that jump activates the teleporter on the first screen, or that you have to click "episode1" to continue. (2) a minor thing -- some of the pink jelly baddies seem to sit on top of each other whilst moving -- looks a bit weird. (3) the game pauses when mouse is outside of playing area -- good idea in general but in your game it is a bit annoying since one naturally puts the pointer outside the area to aim. Perhaps you could make it tolerant to 200 pixels out without pausing (4) The game seems a bit too hard at the beginning -- (or I am just a bit rubbish at playing it!)
The style seems quite retro, e.g. early 1990s. My monitor is quite large so the playing area seems a bit small and fiddly. It would be great to have a fullscreen option, dunno how feasible this is given it's an applet.
This game is very slick. Well done. I am keen to see where it goes.

Thank you, first of all. 1. Yes I realize, I'll have to either display a press up message or have it earlier on in training. And now it displays choose episode. 2. Fixed. 3. The game pauses when you click off game screen. If you move your mouse off the game screen it will not aim. Not much I can do about this. 4. Yes it is hard, I was planning on redoing the beginning maps to include easier enemies. I will do this pretty soon since I have been redoing the enemy code.
Hello everyone, its been a while, heh. Well I just put up an update, no new maps yet. We hope to finish them up tomorrow and put them up by Sunday if not earlier.
This new update has a lot of little cool tweaks that make the game look more polished. If you want more info I'll be posting a blog explaining it pretty soon.
I would love to hear what you guys think.

nvm the last post. Anyways. - I relly like how the boss looks now. He is also different. Wasnt exactly expecting it so I got raiped.
- the death animation is way better.
- are the enemies supposed to stop randomly?
- I see you finally got to triggering events? cause I saw a door.
- The boss is ridiculously hard!
cant wait to see what else changed.

I tried this out a while ago. I hated how it made me go through all these tutorials before I could play, than I gave up when I reached a puzzle that I couldn't figure out.
You should add a "just play" button, and maybe even a level select.
Also, I dislike the art style, but that's personal opinion.
It was polished nicely though.

Ah, I see. You should make it so you don't have to create an account to just play though. Personally I dislike creating accounts.  You could turn it into a JWS and just have it load/save save files.

Hi! I have just tested it once again, it is still so cool (the sound effects are fine)  I like when the guy explodes  I think that if you go on improving your game, I will have to log in to test the full version. Keep it up.

You should never force someone to be part of a community. Which is what you're doing by only allowing some things after you log in. You'll get people who never post, or people who make crappy posts like quoting something and saying "I agree." I know this because I tried the same thing with a Zelda fan game I made. I told people thry couldn't download the latest demo until they registered and made 10 posts. You should separate the game and community a bit more. People will join/post on their own if they like it.

By community, I didn't mean posting, I meant the future interactivity of multi-player. I realize it is pretty much pointless at this point to have people sign up, but the game is no where near complete. So I couldn't care less if people sign up at this point or not, that is why I have not advertised or anything else like that.
It is more of a proof of concept and a way to test so far. If you would like to try out what the game is like at this point you may.
The goal is to turn this into a story version, then turn that into a multi-player version.
Major stuff left to do before Story Mode: -Dialogue boxes

Episode 8 is out, you have to beat the boss again to unlock it.

Another full days worth of code  - I balanced the amount of credx produced through out the game, by limiting it according to what level your character is at.
- Fire now catches other stuff on fire, and damages the player.
- And the over powered bullet pushing objects has been balanced as well.
These updates should cause the game to be a lot more realistic in terms of gameplay. I haven't had a chance to try out the game yet from the beginning with this upate, so I would love to hear from someone that wants to give this a try. I also posted a blog explaining the previous update if anyone is interested in reading.

Lol, I wonder if you guys saw the news posted on the front page...
Anyways It said Temporarily Down, but I just put the game back up. I was stuck at school and realized I left in some debug code, and at school I cannot connect or upload anything to my FTP server.
But its back up now, and ready to play. Its still 1.5 though.
