I added the crouch and look below you feature. It helps a lot when needing to see what is underneath you. You can also crouch and look up? Lol idk if that helps anywhere.

Thanks Demonpants.

Awesome, I'll try it out when I get more time. Big fan of your game, by the way. Makes me remember Metroid, and I totally love Metroid.

I also took out the music tracks. I realized that the initial download is way too long. I guess I'll have to figure out a different way to implement music without affecting anything else.

So anyone that had the "frozen" loading screen can now play the game normally.

Keep up the good work

P.S it took me like 30 min to read through all of the posts. man 5 pages!! that is a lot.

Heh, i think the main reason why it was blocked was because of the name. We thought that some people might not go to the site due to Virus being in the name, but I didn't care.

Thanks, I have 3 main things I need to add next NPCs, Melee Weapons, and Inventory.

A couple news posts back we decided to finish this version off and make a story version. Then create some kind of Gold account users would pay for where you would unlock a bunch of extra features. Because we realized we would need a bunch of servers to make VE MMO. But at the end of the story version were working on we might reassess what direction we want to go in. Either MMO or just Multiplayer.

you could have a menu and ppl vould like post what lvll they need help with. and ppl good invite them along. and then there would be like max 4 ppl. it would sort of solve the server problem.

Ah yes 2.0, it was an early mock up using Phys2D. It created unrecognizable bugs. But maybe when I create the new multiplayer version which will use lwjgl I'll try using Phys2D. Another reason why I didn't keep going with it was the speed.

I was playing the tutorial. and the character just slides all over the place, and I thought "it's like being on ice... you know those sidescroller stages where there is ice" and then there came the ice blocks... the irony is just great =D

The only problem I can find is when blowing up the room boxes in the tut. It lags hard but the fps still shows 40+
Seems it slows down the logic and not the graphics drawing.

Game thinks I'm not logged in.

--

Ok here is some feedback on the tutorial

- when you die you go back to the beginning... to the very beginning D=    kinda annoying
- laggy water is laggy ~ 45 fps
- I like the anti gravity gun, because you can do awesome things if you have the skill.
- But in this regard... I would like to have fullscreen because if I try fancy things with the anti gravity gun for example I would click all over the place and pause the game as my cursor goes out of the screen.

and well... I couldn't pass the water, since I died 4 times... I did'nt want to go all the way again ^^

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I'm stuck at school so I can't upload updates to my server.

I'll fix this next, too many particles that the wooden crates creates.

Game thinks I'm not logged in.
I think for some computers using Fire Fox doesn't recognize you as logged in. And for Internet Explorer the mouse scrolling, scrolls the whole page...

-I'll make it where you go back to the previous room.
-I don't know why the water would be laggy, but i'll look into it. Water does slow you down a lot though.
-The Anti-Gravity Gun is one of the coolest to use. I am planning on having the browser toggle on and off full screen. But this feature will be added later on, maybe for paid accounts like RuneScape.

Oh btw, have you reached level 4 in the room with the Anti-Gravity Gun? Its a lot of fun wall blasting all the way to the top.

hi,
i just tried your game and i must say great, really great work. i played the tutorial and after that i signed up for a full account. but i can't play. the player was stuck in the tube (starting room) and i couldn't do anything.

here is some feedback

- looks really great
- very nice gameplay
- i love the idea of an rpg and story driven 2d platformer / shooter
- nice contents so far (weapons, pickups)
- movement is really laggy here, feels like 10 fps but displayed 99 fps
- got stuck in the starting room in the tube (right wall, pressed W but nothing happend)
- can't jump when sliding down
- you don't get the 100 crdx when signed up

keep up the good work. can't wait for the next release ;-)

ah one more things you may consider: do not use the Z key button, at least not if you cannot change the buttons ingame.
since the z and y are swapped with other keyboard layouts, like for it is. Which makes it awkward to handle, you know..

oh yeah another thing I noticed is that every once and a while it will freeze and then overpower, and render everything that "should" havfe happened during that. It doesnt record key input though. so you willbe running fomr some1 and then it will freeze then you will pop up dead :/

Ok I updated the game, I made the boxes not lag the game when you break them. And in Training when you die, you'll go back to the entrance of the room your in.

Much thanks. I see you got it to work, can you tell me what u did differently? Yeah the going down and jumping isn't working, can't seem to fix that with this old collision code I made. You only get the 100 credx when you confirm your account after receiving the e-mail the site sends you.

ah one more things you may consider: do not use the Z key button, at least not if you cannot change the buttons ingame.

Yeah I planned on having key choosing in the main menu. I just haven't gotten around to it yet.

I think that's when Garbage Collection occurs. Idk much about it, but I want to be able to call it during map transitions maybe, so it doesn't freeze up the game.

Thanks everyone, I hope this update improves the game some more.

That means your player went through the floor or through a wall. I haven't seen it since I had that one unknown error back in the day.

Nope not right now, but my map maker is working on episode 8. Its got a shit load of new stuff. So maybe he'll have it done by tonight, or hopefully tomorrow.

Like it! A few suggestions:

- Ninja rope (that you shoot into walls and can drag yourself up/ swing around)
- Jetpacks

Phys2d seems pretty cool. Set more friction on the floor though so the player doesnt slide so much.

-Ninja rope sounds hard, we were thinking about having some kind of laser grappling hook.
-Jetpacks are possible, it would probably be an equipable item later on.

The Phy2D version is something i might get back to. I haven't worked on that one in a while.
