The graphic of crysis is unmatched by any 3D game up to date, but the hardwere requirement is a joke Undecided

I finished it last month. It does have good grafics and I am a Crytek fan, but I don't like the LOD popping so much and there are other games (on consoles) that compensate the less powerful harware/engine with clever level-design and good artwork, too.

So I am not so much overwhelmed by the look of the game. Other than that the game has just great action and feels very much like an interactive SciFi action movie, which I really like a lot. It's a pity it's so short and the ending feels a bit like "Ohh - this thing was so expensive to develop and the release date is getting nearer - let's take out all the unfished stuff, ship it and make a sequel..."

I had the exactly same feeling. HL2 was also a short one, and they made sequels.

Yes, Crysis is actually the first part of a trilogy. I also agree with cylab, it seems like all games tend to be shorter and shorter with every year.

The technically interesting part of that game is, that they managed to build a engine which provides even with 15FPS smooth gameplay. That are pretty hard realtime requirements for a game. If you compare others, many games run even with 60FPS not fluently.

I bought it yesterday, hoping it would put my new pc(8800gtx+quad core) to the test.
I was blown away by the graphics, and also by the degree to which they've integrated the physics engine into game-play.
I think it's the first game I've played where I've felt proud of the collateral damage done during a fire-fight =)

It also seems to make good use of multiple cores.

MY only 2 gripes so far are :-
1) It *needs* mesh deformation - being able to take cover behind a few inches of indestructible concrete, while tanks blast shells at you breaks the realism somewhat.
2) It seems a little easy - perhaps I shouldn't have played on Normal..... but the infinite regeneration of shield & health makes it feel a little too much like a console blaster. (e.g. Halo)

I'm still not very far in (spent far to much time paddling in the stunning water!), so still have much to look forward to....
