RPG game making

I want to create a RPG GAME in java but i dont know how to do it i know how to mange it but the problem is what SOFTWARE  should i use i want my rpg game to have a whos online system and a chat sytem were people can chat with each other and stuff  WHAT SOFTWARE SOULD I USE IN ORDER TO DO THESE

If you haven't programmed in java before or don't have any programming experience i would ready a good book on java. Also i would start with something easier like Pong or a text adventure. For software i would reccommend JDK 6u2, JavaDocs6 and Jcreator 4 Pro

And RPG's are one of the most difficult and complicated games to program and it is advised not to ever think of starting with an RPG project as nobody ever finishes them for their first project. Instead follow the typical path to games development.
