If you haven't programmed in java before or don't have any programming experience i would ready a good book on java. Also i would start with something easier like Pong or a text adventure. For a mobile card game you will need to do alot of networking related coding and use J2ME. It is quite an undertaking and not something that can be done alone. Good Luck!
