very confused as to how to install slick.  so i download the jar file, what else do i do with this file? it doesnt say on the site what to do with it to install slick. can someone explain to me how to install slick please? thanks!

Libraries aren't installed. You simply add em to the classpath for compilation and you do the same if you want to run it (you also may need to set the path to the native libs then).

An IDE usually allows you to set up that stuff easily.
