Is there any good code for a highly compressed format such as Avi that I can use?

I prefer to use VLC to play videos by using Runtime.exec to play the video. VLC command line is very powerful... i use it to play intro videos fullscreen.

Is the JMF still being developed? The latest release is pretty old?

I don't know if it's still being developed or if there is a successor, but JMF still works for my video files.  I would be interested to know if it's stagnant tech and if there are alternatives, because then I'd stop recommending it Smiley
