Automatic notification

 Not sure where to start this thread, so I stuffed it under off topic , is there away (ike with many other forum software) to say in your profile, always assume I want notification?. I've not found it if there is. My seive like brain often forgets to tell me to tick the little box, and I'd like to have it done automagically, any pointers/ideas, or does YaBB not allow this?
