2D Java games forever!

« Posted 2006-08-08 18:31:13 »

Hi,
I have been programming litlle games for my Sony Ericsson T637(MIDP1.0)
with the SE SDK without problems.
Now I got a Motorola V3, but in the Motorola's page there are many SDKs
to download. My big question is what do I need to donwload to port my
games to it and develop new (MIDP2.0) games on it??
I'm an Eclipse/EclipseME user on WinXP, if this information helps to define
wich packages to download.

   Rafael Carvallo.-

I am looking for the same info.  Went to Motorola's site, but there are too many emulators.  Can anybody suggest one in particular that runs the latest stuff like MIDP 2.0 and M3G..

You want the Motorola J2ME™ SDK v6.1.1.  It will emulate most Motorola handsets, including V3.

I've yet to get any versions of the Moto emulator working through eclipseME, dispite what the website claims =(

I'd just stick with the WTK, as the moto emulator is little more than a reskin; It doesn't attempt to model any of the device issues you will encounter when putting it on a physical handset.
