Textfield in Canvas?

How to have textual input in Canvas?

Anyone know there is any ongoing project for developing such kind of gui for Canvas?

It is difficult to make one as different mobile has sightly different configuration on text input method.

I have downloaded the MIDP source code from Sun and seen that the Textfield class has used com.sun.midp.* package, which i have no way to program on, so i can not access phone specific api for text input.

Any suggestions?
