I would like to do some things on xith.org. I thought xith.org is developed through CVS, but the CVS version is really outdated. How is xith.org developed at the moment?

Well it isn't at all.
We switched from wiki-tiki to Joomla! some months ago. More infos on Joomla! and help can be found here : http://www.joomla.org/ (if you want to modify some needs you'll need to know some basics about the admin)
Please register on the site and I'll give you Publisher access (can write/modify articles & don't need approval for new articles)

You are now a manager, which means you can access the frontend (write articles directly from the site) AND the backend (special administration area). Check your PM.
