What is difference between Developer QA and Publisher QA while carrying out QA for games?
What testing is caried out when testing is done at developers end and at publishers end

this boils down to working code vs functionalty, user acceptance, useablity.

you can have bug free wonderfull code which does what it is suppose to do, it can still miss crucial things


It's harder to read code than to write it. - it's even harder to write readable code.

Speaking as someone who has worked for both game developers and publishers -- Really, this is completely and totally up to the contract between the publisher and the developer.

There is no one size fits all answer.

The closest you might come is reading the IGDA's proposed stadnard contracts, but im not sure how much they are really in use.  i suspect most publoishers probably have modifications they insist on...  as do game developers lucky enough to be in the cat-seat (eg Bioware right now)
