Unfortunately not.  There are a few Shoot-em-up creation tools about (e.g. 3D Gamemaker - although thats quite old now & a google search turns up quite a few others).   Adventure game creation tools are a bit sparse.  You could look at doing a mod for Thief I or Thief II for which there is a toolset available.  The toolset is hard to use though.  Some folks have made a multiuser Thief like game using the Unreal Tournament engine (www.thieveryut.com).  Not Java of course.  One thing you will find with these types of games, is that what makes or breaks the game is content, i.e. plotline.  You also need loads of artwork & sound resources.

I'm not aware of any publicly available toolsets in Java for MMORG.  Not surprising when you can count the number of actual such games in Java on the fingers of one hand.  Why so few?  Because they're incredibly complex to write & require high levels of programming, artistic & scriptwriting skills, a combination seldom enountered in a single person.

Worth a look; written in Borland Delphi I think - really aimed at 2D games though:

I've seen runescape.  It's not got state of the art graphics, but is fun.  Regarding MMORG source code, I just noticed that  the source for the Battle Trolls Demo for Project Darkstar may become available.  See https://games.dev.java.net/  However, 'coming soon' doesn't always happen Wink

[soapbox] At the risk of being boring, I'm going to point out that "I'm going to build the best MMORG ever" posts occur very frequently on this forum and usually go nowhere, once the originator begins to understand the extent of the work required.  By all means have a go, you will learn loads, but be prepared for things to fall apart.  Don't lose any friends over it.  Ok, it is a bit patronising, but it happens a lot. [/soapbox]

Thats all from me.  Best wishes
Alan
