I've been on a few forums and I keep seeing this system call Evo:Phase one.
I went to the official site and copied and pasted this.

Beside using wireless controllers for the system, another feature will allow the EVO:Phase One console not to be plug directly into the TV, meaning that the console can sit anywhere in the home no longer restricted to a one area* . It can stand vertical or horizontal. Plus, it will make use of Envizions S.R.I (Simulated Realistic Intelligence Engine). This new feature will enhance the level of game play and create fun and excitement for everyone. EVO will allow customers to pause, rewind and record live TV, store family photos, play 3D PC games, and access console like applications

What are the specifications:

S.R.I coded Software
AMD Athlon 64 3000
80 hard drive (7,200 rpm)
DVR Tuner Card / HDTV Support /Ethernet /Fireware
Microsoft Media Center 2005
Slot Loading Dvd-Burner
Wireless keyboard & mouse
ATI Radeon Card

Do you think this could be the next big thing?

i think that it will be next big shiX , i can to put my pc vertical or horizontal Smiley , and it is not restricted into one area, it is laptop so i can go even outside home , so it is probably better than EVO , i can also store in it my photos and not only from my famili, also other.. like  girls Smiley, i can also play and watch tv (thanks for special tv card) and play 3d games and even play psx games (blem) and much more, all of this is from quit cheap laptop. My laptop is a big thing EVO it is a phantom reincarnation

Oh and my computer  does not have one thing that s.r.i - artifical inteligence ?, i think that my brain it is enough for my computer...

the future of gaming are true consoles and mobile gaming, evo maybe have strong hardware but people would like to choose probably twice chaepier next gen console, becouse they have better specifications (blue-ray ps3, -> abox -? both have hdd and can be used to play dvd-s, hdtv also suported). The succes depends not on hardware but on marketing , evo probably do not have milions to spend for advertisments like sony or microsoft for their consoles, well let say true evo is pc , eh best wishes to this project..

You mean the future in US, Europe and Japan only, right?

I live in Brazil and we are largely ignored by Sony and the other companies. For you to have an idea a console that costs US$ 150  in US here it doesn't cost less than U$ 400,00, each game between US$ 150 - US$ 100.  And that's not counting any extra peripherals, memory cards, etc.

That's why the pirates are so happy, they have a very profitable business around here because of Sony and Nintendo practice such crazy prices. Microsoft don't even sell XBox here, let's thank pirates for bringing us the latest titles.

thiagosc of course you have right , belive me in my country we have similiar situation, maybe it is not hard to buy console yhe worst are prices of games which are in the same value like in all EU and USA, so for example simple game that in USA cost 40 $ is t is about 1/30 of their average payment - not so bad. In my country 40 dolars is quite big amonut of money for many people - average payment is about 300$. It does not mean that we are misery country, no almost all artciles are cheapier than in USA or UE, but the cost of games are the same...  So what many people do buy console from shop, order special pirat chip or software and download games from net and burn them with dvd recorder.  So maybe the system is reachable but sony sony only can earn on console not games...  Maybe we are in UE but situation is like in Brazil.
