Java for LIFE !!!

« Posted 2003-06-17 20:15:06 »

Hi All,

I've downloaded the LWJGL package from the site...
and I'm trying to run the examples using way suggested
in the read me file. I added the libaray paths in case
they needed to look for the dlls

But I get the following error message

C:\Ben\lwjgl-0.6>java -Djava.library.path=C:\Ben\lwjgl-0.6 -cp .;examples.jar;lwjgl.jar; BitmapFonts

java.lang.Exception: Problem starting loop
       at BaseWindow.start(Unknown Source)
       at BitmapFonts.main(Unknown Source)
Caused by: java.lang.Exception: Problem initialising Lesson
       at BaseWindow.createGLWindow(Unknown Source)
       ... 2 more
Caused by: java.lang.Exception: Mode not supported by hardware
       at org.lwjgl.opengl.BaseGL.nCreate(Native Method)
       at org.lwjgl.opengl.BaseGL.doCreate(Unknown Source)
       at org.lwjgl.opengl.GL.doCreate(Unknown Source)
       at org.lwjgl.Window.create(Unknown Source)
       ... 3 more

What is Causing this?
Does my Video card not support OpenGL ?  Shocked
That would be kinda messed up.....

Any help would be appriciated.
Thanks in advance.

I have fallen to the dark side.  I'm using DX9

If you upgraded to XP, it's a possibility.  MS decided they no longer needed to provide software support for OpenGL in XP.  Make sure you've downloaded the latest driver.  Most companies have updated their XP drivers to support it.

"Oh ya, that's trivial.  I should have it done in an hour."
