You should really see the java 3d mailing list. It gets way out of hand. Every response to every mail has a tonne of junk attached and normally includes some attack on which ever member of the community Paul currently has a (normally random and unjustified) beef with.

I realise its not fair to just deactivate the account, but fair warning..

i would like to see that freak gone but reality is he will be back regardless - tons of people were trying to tell him to change his postings and stop throwing dirt at other people but in no avail.......you can ban him as a Vrml_Java_Animator ... but he will be back as Java_Vrml_Animator...and if you ban that one as well - you will welcome new member  Vrml_Java_Animator_Defender_Of_Deaf_Children ......

Google found this website. With the seemingly random changes of font size and style, it reads a lot like you'd expect crazy people to talk. He has probably the most bizarre writing style i've ever seen.

I shall await his latest 3-screen-deep opus with bated breath.

At least timecube guy is aiming high, looking for a basic paradigm shift in human perception, but Flavin just seems to want people to use Sun's VRML loaders.

If you're going to be an absolute mentalist about something, you could at least make it worthwhile.

Also... I don't think he's advertising vrml. I get the feeling that I have to puke each time I see "vrml" somewhere.

I would prefer 3 popups for each click in this forum instead of that guy (seriously).

It seems that LWJGL is more fully featured than i thought, what with the revolutionary baking API...

I propose instead of simply deleting his posts, they get moved to some kind of Loony-bin forum, where they can serve as a warning to the young 'uns on the dangers of taking technology too seriously.  His delusions of persecution, paranoia and rabidly unwavering fixation should strike the fear of god into any onlookers.

A cunning plan forms in my mind...

I shall befriend Flavin and earn his trust through simplistic physics advice.  Once i have control over his thoughts he shall become my own personal attack-dog.

If anyone messes with me, i tell Flavin that they:

a) work for Yumetech
b) don't like VRML
c) don't like naked ping-pong

His rage unleashed, Flavin will assault the wrongdoer with a righteous onslaught of bizarre diction and mind-bending leaps of logic! None will be able to withstand the random changes of font!

All will tremble before me!

Yeah, the standard tux had some shadows on his chest that were suggestive of the presence of man-boobs, but this one is smooth and clean.  Also the forum resizes it to make him even more rotund than usual, which amuses me.

It's all part of the evil plan though, if you stare at the eyes enough you get the subliminal message "Flavin, obey me!"
