Ok. Now the reason for the silly title and the reason for that test application. The thing is... search engines like to pick up jnlp files and they treat em as (malformed
) html. As a result the links to the jnlp may turn up as search results. As you can imagine it does look a bit odd. You get the title there from <information><title>...</title>...</information> and the rest of the jnlp as plain text (with the tags stripped).
Well, duh... thats of course a bit sub optimal. So I went ahead and added the meta description tag right below the title tag. JWS just ignores it [havent tested it with 1.4], but SEs should pick it up just fine. And that was the reason for this topic's title (and the name of the jnlp). I just wanted something findable
So if it works like I think it should turn up soon-ish like:
