So things have finally slowed down long enough for me to look at the huge amounts of changes to LWJGL since the 0.4 codebase I started with so I tossed everything I had, chunked the AGL interfaces that Apple used and moved over to the Core Graphics Library system (CGL) that I discovered in their porting guide. The code is simpler, input is supported and as soon as I finish binding all of the CGL functions the OSX release will be complete.
